We are an independent magazine based in Vancouver, Canada, and in our first two years of publication we have featured over 75 artists from all over the world who share in our passion for photography and the written word. We are continually amazed with the caliber of submissions we receive and are committed to growing our publication to make it possible to showcase more brilliant talent.

Part of our mission from the start has been to make a tangible product. It is important to us that both images and words are not just consumed solely in a digital format. We offer print versions of each issue of our magazine, but as our second anniversary approaches we thought we would try something a little different.

With the help of the Ayden Gallery in Vancouver, Latent Image will be showcasing  a month long exhibition in January 2016 (opening night January 8^th) titled Ideas of Breath – “without stopping, without thinking, just go, I wanta hear what’s in the bottom of your mind”  (Jack Kerouac).  We want to see what you create when you pull a theme apart, rather than construct one. Let the stream of consciousness take control and work around what the title Ideas of Breath means to you.

We are opening this submission call to different mediums; photography, writing, fibre arts and mixed media (the caveat being with the later mediums that there be some type of photographic/writing element somewhere in your piece). Submission Deadline is October 31^st

We are keeping the size of all submissions up to 11 x 14 inches. We plan to print and frame all photography ourselves, to make for a unified show, and as such, we are asking for a $20 submission fee to cover costs.  We have set up a PayPal button (see below) on our website to assist with this.
